Rig Inspections

Pre-Purchase

Know the condition of the rigging before you buy a sailboat. Many marine surveyors do not include an aloft rigging inspection in their survey. We will carefully look over the mast and rigging from the chainplates to the masthead and provide you with a formal write-up including pictures.

Annual

It is important to regularly inspect standing rigging. We offer economical aloft rigging checks that will give you peace of mind for your next sailing season.

Mast Inspection and Repair Services

Maintenance

Any aloft work needed - Repair lights. Install new instruments. Windex replacement. Clean spreaders and masts. Chafe protection. Painting and varnish. Fabricating and installing leather spreader boots, etc.

Replacement

When it’s necessary to replace the entire rig, we’ll manage the entire process, from ordering the parts, to scheduling time in the yard.

Winch Maintenance and Repair

Annual Service

Winches must be serviced regularly to maintain optimum performance and reduce wear. Winches carry deceptively high loads and a jammed or disabled winch can constitute a severe hazard.

Repair and Upgrades

When your winches need to be repaired or you’re considering an upgrade, we’ll help you choose the best solution and do the install.

Lifeline Fabrication and Installation

Wire

We can fabricate and install new lifelines with stainless steel wire rope or vinyl coated wire rope.

Synthetic

For the the performance-minded racer or offshore sailor, we can splice dyneema lifelines.

Furler Maintenenace and Installation

Service and Repair

We have the experience and knowledge to service and repair Harken, Selden, and Profurl headsail furlers, among others. We also service Selden in-mast mainsail furlers.

Installation

We can install a new headsail furler with the rig up or down.

Custom Hardware Fabrication

We can design and fabricate custom stainless steel and aluminum parts to solve almost any rigging problem.

Transportation Prep and Shipping

When you need to truck your boat from east coast to west, or from north to south, we can work with you on both ends of the road. We’ll de-rig and prep your entire boat for shipping, and we can arrange to re-rig and tune your boat at the other end.
